The runaway princess and her lone alpha

Sarah pov I walked through the Hall way, which led to the head master's office. Dressed in my school attire, a gray long sleeve and a navy blue stripe short skirt just above my knee. This is my first time in Gray Hallow Academy. A school meant for all social walks of life, the rich, poor and even the unhuman... like me, who is a werewolf.

I knocked and I was being told to come in. Looking at Mr White, the head master who sat on his seat, busying himself with some documents. He didn't look up for a while. "Have your seat" He said without looking up.

I sat down without a word and waited for him to finish sorting what he was sorting. While he was busying himself, I scanned the office; it looked more like a library than an office.

A small laugh escaped my mouth, bringing out a small letter. "My father, the alpha king asked me to bring this to you" I handed him the letter and he read it, his expression started becoming normal. He looked at me and performed a 180 degree bow. "welcome my princess"

"Skip with the pleasantries. I am only here to see the socalled mate I was being blessed with. My sister Kate, told me he was here."

"Oh, Adrian is doing fine at the moment" Mr White said, he walked towards his table and brought out a file, before handing it over to me. "This has been his activity over the course of the years he spent here. I was planning on taking it down to the alpha king, but since you are here, you can do what you want"

And first of all I needed to get to know this school better, so I don't get lost. I looked around me trying to find my way after walking out of the hallway. A young lady about my age walked up to me. "Hello I am Kate, are you new here?"

Kate? That was my sister's name, interesting that there was someone who bears her name, and that someone seems to be a human being.

"Yeah, to be honest I just came in and I don't know where to go" I answered honestly, since I forgot to tell the headmaster to take me around, I needed someone who can show me around the school.

"That's great, you can come with me to the secretary office, where you can check which class you belong to" she held my hand and started dragging me.

The secretary's office? But I wasn't yet registered. What will I do if my name isn't on the list of the registered students in the school. I wanted to pull back, but I got scared of hurting her, she was a human, the humans were weak.

"Kkate I think it's alright i can find my way there"

I tried shaking her off, but oddly enough she refused right away.

" What nonsense, the office is just round the corner we are there already"

What! There! How!

Going in and if I'm asked what should I do? I became alarmed. This is messed up

"What's your name"

"Sarah, Sarah Cole," I replied.

The Secretary paused for a second, looking at me with surprise. " You are Kate 's sister?"

Kate? My elder sister? "Yes"

"Wow," Kate exclaimed in surprise.

What happened, was my sister that was famous?

"Please can you help me in getting an autograph from your sister? Please?"

"I... gu... guess I can."

"Class 01B, it's shown that you registered days ago, So Kate here will take you there, and your accommodation isn't any problem, but if you insist, you can stay with your sister, or have your own Free apartment." The Secretary handed me a small booklet " Over here are rules of the school, and in case you are lost, the booklet can help you find your way out. And also in case you need any help, the booklet has names of teachers that can help you, in the academy."

I stood a full minute hearing her go on and on, looking at the small booklet given to me. out of habit, I started flipping the page till my eyes caught the rules, with my sharp eyes are scanned down the rules, till my eyes drop down below

What the hell is this?

Sarah pov

"What does this mean?" I showed Kate, who stood besides me.

"This..." Kate blinked, trying to find her word. It seems the name Adrian was a taboo in this school.

"He is the school's notorious student, and it will be best for you to avoid him, no matter what, go the other way when you see him. You don't want your first year in school to be full of bad experiences."

How was I supposed to stay away from him, when this same person was my mate? A mate I never knew, till the day it was prophesied, by the moon goddess. And now I'm here trying to figure out and get to know this same man. Who exactly is he?

After leaving the secretary's office, while I and Kate were walking, my mind could not stop thinking about Adrian, although I haven't seen him, but what I do know is that Adrian , who is my mate, has taken my interest.

"Kate, please can you tell me about this Adrian?"

"This..." Kate seemed to hesitate "this, I don't think it's a good idea"

"Please" I stressed, I needed answers.

Kate looked around her, noticing that the hallway was dry, and there wasn't any student around. " This Adrian that you want to know about is the school notorious bully. Even teachers are too scared of him, so we avoid him. He can even destroy a student, making the student life in this school a living hell"

" But why hasn't the school said anything about this, why haven't they suspended him or called him in for questioning?"

"That's when the problem lies, because the school is his backing. The school belongs to his family, it has been for generations and generations to come, there is even rumor that he might end up taking over the school." I felt surprised hearing this. So my mate is a notorious bad boy, that only depends on his family. Kate seemed to read my expression.

"He is not entirely bad."

Oh. This piques my interest.

"In the entire school, he is the most brilliant student. He even has his own society, where they make money, especially for the poor who benefit greatly from it. Because of this he has gotten a high fan base, in Popularity."

"I can see my name is being discussed around, tell me, am I that famous?" A voice came in. I looked over in surprise, wasn't I supposed to notice when someone came in? When did my wolf sense start malfunctioning?!

I looked at the newcomer, shock obviously written on my face. Kate for some reason came behind me. This newcomer is dressed in the same uniform as I was. Which means he was a student. His back lean lazily on the wall, his features lazy and handsome, one could see a trace of beards growing at his jaws. He looked at me and for some reason his lazy expression changed slightly, before returning to normal.

But this isn't what got me alert. It was the fact that I felt the connection between us, and not only that my wolf screamed of danger. Nobody has ever made me feel afraid, other than my father, who is currently the alpha king.

I knew that this man was dangerous, and I must keep myself alert at all costs.

"You. You can go, I will come looking for you soon" The guy, who I guess is Adrian. Because it was only him that could behave brazenly in front of me.

"She's not going anywhere" I held Kate's hand. "Look Adrian, I don't care who you are but, don't you dare cause trouble for my friend" I warned him despite my heart beating so loudly that I could hear it. But I didn't want him to see my weakness, as a princess and daughter to the great alpha king, my pride won't allow me to submit easily.

For a minute he stared at me for a minute before bursting into laughter.

What was so funny there?

"Oh my" He moved away from the wall and walked right towards where I stood. Kate tried hiding herself more, if my back was a ground, I am sure she would have prayed to bury herself in.

He walked like a boy who got tired of running. But every step he took, cried danger. My wolf threatened to come out, refusing to submit. And for some odd reason, I regretted not letting Kate run. I was still young, I hadn't even been able to tame my wolf properly. And I was hundred percent sure that I would shift anytime soon. This Adrian aura was too dangerous. What kind of mate makes his partner feel scared.

Idiot!

Bastard!

I rained curses on him.

"Sarah, should we run? The secretary's office is just around the corner, you know?" Kate whispered behind me, and for some reason I really wanted to buy that idea.

"You should run and get help, I will stay and talk things out with him"

"No... I can't probably leave you, besides its my fault for discussing him to you"

Like the fvck! How am I supposed to handle him now? I prayed for a miracle and before my wolf could shift, a figure showed up, dressed as a student. Her facial resembles that of mine but there was a little sharpness in it. And that got to be Kate, my elder sister and the next successor to my father.

"Adrian, haven't you teased my sister enough? I think you have something better to do than just bullying a little girl" Adrian stopped immediately, his lazy expression gone now replaced with a sharp one, his stare at my sister who stood with some group of friends.

They weren't human. This was what I first noticed. Indeed this school was definitely full of surprises

Sarah pov

Invisible tears fell down my cheek. Seeing my sister standing made me have the urge to run towards her. But I still stood my ground regardless.

Adrian looked at my sister, his eyes gave a cold vibe.

"There's one thing I didn't tell you. Your sister and Adrian had always been on logger heads. And Adrian always seems to come out last."

"Shhh" Although I was grateful to Kate for informing me about this. But she shouldn't say that even though she only whispered. Adrian is a wolf, and his sense would definitely be sharper than even hers. For him to come in without being undetected, one could say his senses were on high level.

And soon enough my guess was right. He looked at Kate (my new found friend) with hostility in his eyes. Kate shrinks back farther. This Adrian was not going to make a move against a human right? I spread my arms wide, in a defensive stance.

"Hey little dog. Do you want to come play some game with me? Maybe I can wipe your ass one more time." A skinny youth from Kate's side, steps out. He wasn't human that I was sure of. His eyes seemed to change to that of blood red. Thankfully Kate didn't notice it. Without thinking much, I knew he was a vampire

Adrian grit his teeth. "Fine" That word was spoken with a bit of force and anger. It seems this skinny guy said something to offend him.

The skinny guy winked at me before jogging towards the woods. The school is made up of woods and forest forming fences over the school. To say the school was being built inside the wood wasn't wrong.

Adrian looked at me for a moment before leaving towards the direction the skinny guy left. But for some reason his eyes left a deep impression on me. As if it's telling me, "I will find you".

"Are you alright?" my sister Kate, walked up to me.

"I'm fine" I breathed out, feeling relief.

"I... I will get going now" Kate said looking at my sister, she looks to be a big fan of my sister.

"Alright, I will catch up with you later" I waved at her as she walked away. Thank God the issue was resolved early.

"Why are you here, does father know you are here?" Kate bombarded me with questions. She seems to be holding her thoughts since Adrian and Kate were still here at that time.

"Father gave me to give you" I handed an envelope to her "father already knows about me coming here" Kate tore the envelope open before reading the content. After reading it, a small ball of flame rose from her hand as she burned the paper into ashes.

" What's father thinking?What's he planning? That he had to allow you into coming here. Is this some kind of joke or what!"

"Father, maybe have his own reason."

"But you haven't learned how to tame your wolf. Thank goodness that I arrived earlier, if not I don't know if it's only a piece of bone that would be remaining of your new found friend. And don't forget that you are in a mixed school. Everyone with abilities can sense your wolf, and since you are still learning, you are bound to be an easy target."

Sht I didn't remember this when I came here. I really messed up really badly. The truth of the matter was that my father never wrote those letters. I forged my dad's handwriting and used his seal of authority to seal these letters, when my father was in one of his concubine rooms.

"Guys I think this isn't the time for this! Because Raphael needs our help before Adrian is going to tear him down" One of Kate's friends spoke up. This guy wore casual clothing different from the school uniform all of them wore. For some reason I couldn't place my hand on what kind of ability he possessed.

"Shit, to the back mountain! Everyone quick!" Kate led her team off. Stopping for a while she looked at me "stay behind me, don't try anything funny"

Of course I was going to stay beside her, although I was a little bit childish, but I do know when to advance and to redraw. And now this time was the good time to just be the spectators.

I followed my sister down into the woods, jumping, flying trees on our way there. My eyes focused on the one who reminded my sister about Adrian, and what I saw shocked me. The way he moved, so freely, and faster than his team, but for some reason he slowed down a great lot. His image becomes slightly blurry as they merge with nature.

What the heck is my sister doing with these people? First a vampire, and now a tree killer, what else is in her group.

In the forest, we reached where a piece of wood was carved and written. END OF ZONE, DO NOT ENTER.

"Stay behind me!" My sister roared as she shifted straight into a big brown wolf. Her claws create a deep footprint on the soil. Three more shifted into their wolves, as they both pushed forward.

I looked on with envy in my eyes, if only I had been able to shift willingly. That would have been great.

It's not that I can't change, but I can't control my wolf, allowing her access means giving her my life.

A wolf cry tore through the sky. What was that? I do know that it wasn't my sister, and it wasn't the skinny guy, because he was a vampire. That could actually mean one thing.
